Frequently Asked Questions
Yes! I frequently install new gas systems into clients’ homes for those who prefer cooking on gas. Installation involves running a new gas line from the kitchen to a suitable outdoor location for LPG bottles, removing your electric cook top and installing a client supplied gas cooktop, plus testing and certification.
I don’t supply gas bottles or gas cook tops. You will need to supply your own 9kg gas bottles, or setup an account with a supplier for 45kg bottles.
There are legal restrictions on where gas bottles can go, they must be 1m from any drain/door or window, 1.5m from any powerpoint/air con/meter box/hot water or any other electrical source, and in a position that is open on three sides/not under a building/not on a varandah.
Alternatively, you may have natural gas available in your area. If you have neighbours with natural gas please contact APA on 1300 001 001 to make a new connection inquiry.
APA owns the natural gas pipelines in Queensland.

Electric to gas cooktop installations start from $1100 inc GST (bottles and gas cooktop not included)
